Gluten Free Diet
A gluten free diet is one that excludes all gluten, a protein found in wheat, barley, rye and all their species and hybrids.
Symptoms can vary from being mildly gluten sensitive right through to celiac disease. For these people ingesting gluten can cause serious health issues which can normally be remedied by simply following a gluten free diet. Gluten protein contains minimal nutritional or biological value and therefore is not necessary for a balanced diet.

There is gluten free toast, and the majority of the brunch menu is gluten free.
Our pancakes are lighter and fluffier without the gluten and we also offer gluten free stuffing and gravy to complete our Sunday roasts.
King shrimp, served with chilies, ginger and garlic is so tasty.
Chicken breast with wild mushroom sauce is another great gluten free choice.
Cornish hake with spiced Puy lentils and salsa verde is completely gluten free.
Duck breast with spiced quince is a great option, steak with garlic and parsley butter, Rump of spring lamb with spinach, roasted garlic and rosemary can be served with the meat juices instead of homemade gravy.
However, to those who are celiac or have a strong intolerance to gluten I feel we must point out that although we go to great lengths to ensure everything is done correctly, the kitchen does contain gluten products and therefore could cause some cross contamination. Please be reassured that we take every step to avoid this.
